A guy at my work today told me that he's a former Lumberjack, and it wasn't clear that he was referring to his alma mater's mascot until AFTER I enthusiastically asked him if he was ever in one of those log-throwing competitions.
The best part is, a little bit of google research has taught me that lumberjacks don't even throw logs. Scottish people do. And not even Scottish lumberjacks. Just Scottish log-throwers.
Yeah, my husband wants to be Scottish. He told me that he wanted to wear a kilt on our wedding day to celebrate his Scottish heritage.
ReplyDeleteHe was outed at Thanksgiving dinner with his family, when they told me they weren't Scottish. I still married him anyway.
That's quite a large log. That's all I'm going to say about that
ReplyDeleteha. thanks for the random facts.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Who the crap has the lumberjack as their mascot?
ReplyDeleteThat's called the Caber Toss........ We have Scottish Games in Athena every year.
ReplyDeleteNorthern Arizona University has a lumberjack as their mascot, as do several other schools.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment on my blog. I wonder if I should tell Kristina's husband that I'm part Scottish just so that I can hear him cyber wail in jealousy.
