You are NOT the baby's father

My plan for my next post was to put up the best of the family photos I've uncovered so far in my summer project. But then something happened!

To begin, I watched Ricki Lake's eye-opening documentary "The Business of Being Born" on instant Netflix and then posted this to Twitter:

The next morning, here's the long view of my update:

Wait!! What's that there at the bottom??

It couldn't possibly be that Ricki Lake, THE Ricki Lake, as in, "Hi my name is Jessie Sweet, I'm 11 years old and I watch the Ricki Lake Show when my parents aren't home" reposted MY update for all 45,688 of her followers to see.

Awesome. This is even better than when Cesar Millan, or at least his assistant, reminded me to stay calm and assertive. And I thought NOTHING would ever top THAT.

In conclusion, because it's bound to come up, NO. I'm not pregnant. Can't a girl just watch a movie on the maternity care industry without raising all sorts of suspicions??

  1. I have this on my instant queue but can't watch it at the farm because of the dang slow internet! I can't wait to see it.

Also, I was always staying up to watch Ricki and Jenny, with my finger poised over the "recall" button, just in case someone came down the stairs. Good times.

  2. I'm glad you finally watched it. Now you don't think I'm so crazy. Right? Right?

  3. I never thought going natural was CRAZY. I just didn't think it was for ME. Now I'm not so sure.

  4. Wow, that actually looks really awesome, and now I may have to watch it! There's an awesome blog that I read (no, I'm not pregnant, either) called Offbeat Mama. It's pretty fun, and provides a lot of really interesting information on the subject. One couple decided to relocate to Mexico (scorn of Americans everywhere) to have their second child because of how poor their first experience was here in America. Really, really fascinating stuff!

  5. That is awesome.

I liked TBOBB but I was taken aback at all the Ricki Lake nudity. No one warned me about that.

  6. OK, I got to thinking about it and I feel compelled to come back here and say I didn't really like TBOBB. I liked the questions it raised but I thought it didn't really stand alone as a comprehensive review of maternity choices in America, and a hard look at the same.

Thanks for letting me get that off my chest.

  8. Watched that while pregnant with Ally...turns out Ally didn't like it and came into the world with the approach of "anything that can go wrong is going to go wrong mom". I'm more than happy to just book an ER this time around! But I did like the movie :)
